Halloween Contest Story Title Reveal

October 23, 2015 Update

The Decline and Fall of Rowland Graves has been removed from Literotica and is available on Amazon as an ebook in as of October 23, 2015.

Today’s the day! I’m probably blowing this out of proportion, but I’ve been excited to let everyone in on this secret ever since the idea took me by surprise over dinner a few weeks ago. So the story I’m writing (about 11K words into it now) for Literotica’s Halloween Story Contest is …

[drumroll please]

The Decline and Fall of Rowland Graves

picture becomes relevant later, I swear …
Yes, you heard that right. If you enjoyed The Devil’s Luck, you’re about to find out how a normal young doctor became the monster who menaced Hannah Collingwood on two different continents and a galleon in between. This shorter story takes place in 1692, twenty-four years prior to the events of The Devil’s Luck.

It’s going in the Erotic Horror category on Lit, though I’m sad to say that I’m going to have to go with the altered title, The Fall of Rowland Graves instead of my ideal title above, because Lit has a 35 character limit on story titles.

The first day that story submissions go live for this contest is October 1st, and I’m really trying to get this done in time for that. As soon as it goes live, I’ll post the link, and I sure hope you wonderful readers will go, read it, and vote!

I’m gonna throw you one more excerpt, but it’ll be the last one, because really, anything much further on in the story is going to be wrought with spoilers, so I hope you like it!

She smiled up at him, fingertips dusting over his chest, and he twitched within her, his body still shuddering to a stop after his climax.

“I love you, Rowland.”

He wanted to collapse every time he heard the words from her.

“And I love you,” he replied as he always did, brushing her lips in a kiss.

Their clothing righted again a few moments later, he pulled her back onto his lap and drew his arms around her waist.

“We’ll tell your father on Friday, yes?” He nuzzled his face into her neck.

“Mmm. Yes,” she purred back to him, “I can’t bear to wait any longer. We’ll wed in the spring, love?”

“Of course,” he said, threading his fingers through hers, bringing her knuckles to his lips.

How or why Fortune had chosen to favour him, he wasn’t sure, but he at least knew one thing for certain. Elinor Barlow loved him. Beyond all reason, Rowland Graves had earned the love of an angel, and his every day and night with her would be a blessing. He would adore her and hold her every one of them.

So there it is! Can you believe Mr. Struck By Cupid here is the same villain who skeeved some readers out so much they almost quit reading the story? Just you wait and see what happens!
