New: My complete Trigger Warning & Trope Index is live!

Every story. Every kink. Every content warning. All in one place.

Yessss! I’ve been wanting to make this happen for so long it’s not even funny! This project has been on my to-do list for at least a year. Maybe two—I time travel easily these days.

I now have a single page where you can view every content warning, trope, kink, setting, genre, and reading format for every one of my stories, all at once.

And there are filters!

Yes! Want to see which books of mine have some fun enemies-to-lovers action going on? Click that filter button and there you go! Only want to read about enemies falling in love back in the day? Click the ‘historical’ filter, too, and see even more specific results.

Every single word and phrase in the wordcloud graphic up top is one of the actual filters!

But wait, there’s more!

Hover your cursor over any book cover image and you’ll see a complete list of genres and content types for that book. Not just the ones you filtered the list for, but every single one relevant to that story.

Okay, but what’s the point of all this?

You ask good questions. I like the cut of your jib.

Ever just pass over a book fifty different times because it looks kinda ‘meh’ or maybe even not your cup of tea, at all? And then one day the title shows up in a book recommendation thread for some trope you never would have guessed in a million years was in there?

But you love that trope, so now you’re off to check that story out after all this time. And, lo and behold, you end up totally into some book you never would have looked twice at, before!

If you’re looking for a new read (and I’m not writing the next one fast enough, let’s be real), you could check out this all-in-one content list page for stories you might have given a pass or may not even know about. There might be some hidden gems in there for you!

I’ll be using this page for two primary things:

First, to have a single link I can post for new readers to see what kinds of books I’ve got lurking in my catalog.

And second, to include the link at the beginnings of new ebook releases (and earlier releases, as I update the files over time) to direct potential readers to the full list of content warnings for that book.

Our corporate overlords are out here making life difficult.

Lots of readers are looking for content warnings, and I respect that. There’s content out there I’d rather skip on past if I can at all help it.

As readers, we’re all looking to book blurbs, titles, excerpts, and reviews to tell us whether a story is worth our time. Most of the time, between all those sources of info, we can usually steer clear of the kinds of things we don’t want to read. But sometimes there’s an unpleasant surprise, isn’t there? [makes scrunchy face]

As an author, I want to tell you right upfront what kind of content is in my books so you don’t have to be stepping into any of those nasty surprises from me.

As an indie author trying to eat food and sleep under a roof, I must also keep the Amazon Gods happy. This is a much trickier endeavor.

I won’t bore you with all the nerdy details, but TL;DR: There are a lot of words or phrases that make Amazon Big Mad, and including them anywhere in our books’ blurbs, titles, keywords, etc. creates ugly consequences for those books. They’re either made very difficult to find on the site or worse, catch the ban hammer.

So, while I’ve been out here trying to Tell You My Content Warnings Without Actually Saying The Naughty Things in my book blurbs, I know it’s not always enough. Sometimes we just don’t read to the end of the blurb. Sometimes I have to tap-dance around the subject so hard, what I’m getting at may not be obvious to every reader. And then here comes that nasty surprise.

It sucks. I hate it, too.

But while I can’t control the arcane and opaque internal policies of giant e-tailers, or the gross amount of the book market they lord over, I can make a goddamn webpage. And I can link that shit with big pointy arrows and flashy lights: Read this first! Find out if you are allergic to this book!

And find out if there are any more, just like it. Ahem.

Go on. You know you wanna look.

Take me to The Kink List

Happy reading, my friends!
