This summer’s hottest vampire boxed set is here.

"She was going to eat this extremely attractive young man for dinner." "V is for Vampire", by Eris Adderly, featured in the Bite Me anthology. Read for free on Kindle Unlimited

Ninety-eight point six degrees of bliss.

I wrote a filthy, vampire ménage story set in the year 2399. Vampirism is a genetic mutation, and all vampires live underground because the UV is out of control, even at night. Corporate security firms claim to protect V-positive citizens from harm by tightly restricting traffic form the surface, but my heroine, November Kitamura, a vampire gate guard in underground Seattle finds out something else is going on. Something large-scale and all kinds of f**ked up. And yeah, somewhere in the middle of all this, she gets some D. OK, a LOT of D. But that’s OK, because vampires need the extra vitamin D, right? Right??

    Here’s the blurb!

“Bite down and don’t let go.”

November just wants to serve her time as a gate guard and maybe once in a while splurge on that nice imported bloodmeal for a change. You know. Vampire stuff.

Then these conspiracy whackos show up at her post and try to get all murdery.

She wakes up beaten and bloody in a cheap apartment on the surface, where vampires haven’t lived in at least three hundred years. Her new guard partner Leo might have been trying to save her life—and he might look delicious as hell—but he’s also out of his mortal mind to bring her here. His arrogant roommate, Radoslav, is no better.

She needs to get back underground. This isn’t some fairytale land like back in the twenty-first century. It’s a felony for her to even be up top, and these two men can’t agree on how to smuggle her home.

Plus, there’s this whole other problem.

    November is getting hungry.

V is for Vampire is a raw, red-hot prologue to the upcoming Blood Accord series, and smears the pages with a thirsty vampire who knows what she wants, and the men who know how to give it to her. Stain remover recommended.

Bite Me: A Vampire Anthology cover artV is for Vampire will be available for a limited time in the Bite Me anthology:

Excerpt from V is for Vampire:

The sting at her ribs and thigh was not going away, and the vampire brought her attention back to eyeball what was left of the wounds. She made a face and nudged at the ragged laceration on her side with careful fingertips. It wasn’t actively bleeding now, but neither had the flesh knit closed, like it should’ve. She’d coughed up all the gold—what was the problem?

As if in response, her stomach made a noise.

Your broke ass hasn’t had anything to eat in a week.

And by ‘anything to eat’, she meant blood. Regular food was all well and good for a while. But just like the ancient sailors coming down with scurvy until they figured out it was a good idea to keep a fucking lemon or two on board, if anyone V-positive went without refreshing their bloodstream for too long … well, it wasn’t pretty.

    She already wasn’t healing properly.

    Goddamn this idiot.

November gave a low growl and finished scrubbing crusted blood from her skin, avoiding the two open wounds. She cut the spray off and stepped out into the humid little room. Swiped the hanging towel and patted rather than wiped herself dry. No sense in agitating things.

Her clothes were on the floor in a bloody heap, and November curled a lip. Nope. This neg was gonna lend her a shirt or something. She wrapped the towel under her armpits, instead.

“Hey,” she said, stepping out into the cooler living area, “you have got to take me back.”

Leo was in the kitchen now, and he turned at the sound of her voice. His mouth came open and stayed that way a full beat before words came out, while hazel eyes took in legs and female shoulders and wet hair. “We just went over this,” he said after he got done realizing she was a woman. “You know I can’t do that right this instant.”

“I need to eat.” She held his eyes, pointed.

“I’m making us food right now,” he said, gesturing behind him at some package on the counter.

“No,” she said, “my wounds aren’t healing. I need to eat.”

  • Bass-Ackwards is LIVE!

Bill was just the sort of prick who’d want to bend her over and humiliate her.

This was supposed to be a dirty deal with a man she tolerated at best. Bass-Ackwards by Eris Adderly

Yes! Bass-Ackwards is has made its way to ebook and print!

If you follow me on Literotica, you may have already read this filthy slice of What the Fuck Did I Just Read, but if not, you’re in for it now! Haha!  What started as a gratuitous way for me to blow off steam during a stressful time in my life in 2017 (Pro Tip: if someone ever asks you if you want to sell your house while buying another one at the same time, you tell them ‘No’, and you run screaming for the hills) ended up a whole entire novel.

I tortured the crap out of these two idiots—er, characters—in a way that makes zero sense at all. This book starts off with a bang and then goes weird and uncomfortable places. Come for the “Oh no, he did not!” Stay for the “Why, you fools, whyyyyy???” Well. And lots of guilty pleasure scenes of the ‘this is so wrong, why do I like this’ variety.

Hope you have as much fun reading about Bill and Christina as I did writing them. This is no billionaire boss Romance—these are average folks with ugly secondhand furniture in their houses and grilled-cheese sandwich budgets, who just might manage to dumbass themselves into something more than the tedium of getting by.

    Here’s the blurb:

Bill Marshall might as well have been the Devil.

Christina Lee Dodd needs Friday off work. Needs. She’s up to her eyeballs in problems.
One of those problems is her boss, Bill Marshall.

And Bill Marshall is an a**hole.

The offer he makes is textbook inappropriate. An HR nightmare.

But is it wrong for her to accept?

Is it wrong for her to like it?

Bass-Ackwards is a filthy wrong-way romance where two human beings make more mistakes than you can shake a stick at. For mature readers only.

Bass-Ackwards by Eris AdderlyThis wildly inappropriate blue-collar Romance is now live on Amazon. AND, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read for FREE!

    [content_box type=”without-header” text_color=”dark” color=”default”]

    Excerpt from Bass-Ackwards:

Did her nipples ache for more attention? Yes. Was her pussy throbbing? Way too much. Did she want to finish? Of fucking course she did!

But was Bill going to take her there? No. Was he going to demand she hold still while he tore whatever result he wanted from her body? Nope.

He’d brought her to the edge and left her there. Again. Christina had never been so hot in all her life, and this … fucking … asshole! He had no business turning her on in the first place, and now he was in her head, day and night. The smell of him, the sound of that voice!

And yes, she had masturbated. Obviously. Thank god he hadn’t asked whether she’d thought of him while doing it. At least over the last couple weeks …

So now if she wanted to come, she’d have to choose it. On purpose. There would be no just sitting back and letting him take it, letting him relieve the pressure, relieve her of responsibility. He’d said he hadn’t bought her, but right now, Christina was feeling owned.

He owns something right now, that’s for sure. Got your head aaall messed up. Haven’t even bothered to put your tits away.

But if he owned her, even just for today, maybe she ought to give him what he asked for. This wasn’t even a functional reality, anyway. How could it be when she was sitting around in the shop, considering in a serious manner whether she ought to beat off in front of Asshole Bill?

You should do it. He won’t last two minutes.

The idea made all her other thoughts shut up and look over, ears perked.

Not bad. Not bad at all. If Christina started to play with herself, Bill had no chance of keeping his shit together. Not after how he’d been acting. He’d be over there in a flash, belt coming open, fly down, and they’d both get what they wanted. She just wouldn’t have to examine what that was, because she’d be busy hanging on for dear life.

She let her right hand creep up over her thigh.

Excerpt from A Sinner in Virtue:

The percussive sloshing was a blasphemy in the darkened chapel. Some gasping noise like a question rose up out of her throat. Levi traced fingertips under her chin, stepping close and aiming his cock to fill.

    T-two? I ca—

    He was in her mouth.

Plump, warm flesh slid back over her palate. Male musk painted her tongue, even as hand palmed the top of her head to block a startled retreat.

Both priests moved in her body. Levi now parting her jaw, while Raymond soldiered away at her cunt. There was no arching her back now to raise her head. The thrust of male hips had the surface of the water violent, and Buckeye had to snort whenever it hit her face.

This was it. She had to just be here, now. Helpless. A cut of meat on a spit. A spit that was fucking her. At both ends.

When had the others broken? How had the priests known to stop?

Glassy eyes above a bent neck.

    They didn’t. They didn’t stop.

Either they hadn’t known, or …

Buckeye was breaking. She could feel it. But the cracks in her structure ran in a far more terrifying direction.

He won’t stop. Oh god, he won’t stop.

She squeezed and tilted her hips into Raymond’s groin. There was no other way to tell him, but the priest got the message. Hauled her down to his base with more force.

It’s okay. It’s okay. No one can see. Just let him. So good.

Who would see her shame? Raymond? Levi? Mather? She made a guttural noise in her throat. It didn’t matter. She squirmed on the two Covvie pricks that might fuck her to death.

Words. There were words nearby. Someone was talking.

    Mather.

“Surrender and trust,” he said again from his chair. “Complete faith.”

Her eyes darted to meet his, grey, but on fire with interest.

    That voice. Oh, god.

Raymond and Levi took another step down into the baptistery. The water closed over her head.

  • As Flame to Smoke is back, blasphemous as ever!

Here? In a church? Oh yes.

As Flame to Smoke by Eris AdderlyHe was still a man, vows or no. How hard could it be to control himself?

A demon! A priest! Seduction! Oh my!

My controversial erotic novella As Flame to Smoke is back! Newly revised from the 2015 version released in the Darker Side of Love anthology, this standalone story is just $0.99 USD!

The updated version of this dirty, blasphemous novella is now live on Amazon. AND, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read for FREE! So if you didn’t catch it the first time, now’s your chance.

Even if you don’t own a Kindle, you can get the free Kindle app for AndroidApple or PC, and get all the sin and temptation on your phone, computer or tablet.

As Flame to Smoke first appeared in the Darker Side of Love anthology in 2015. I’ve since given the prose a facelift, and now here it is to stand on its own.

The writing of this novella marked a turning point in my constant inner battle between wanting everyone to like me, and not wanting to censor myself.

It’s also unique in that it might be the only story (aside from The Decline and Fall of Rowland Graves, depending on how a reader wants to look at it) that I’ve written from the point of view of the antagonist. Can you root for a villain?

    [content_box type=”without-header” text_color=”dark” color=”default”]

Excerpt from Act II of As Flame to Smoke:

“I have not been chaste in thought or word, Father.” Her voice lowered, and she brought her mouth near the lattice. “I’ve touched myself. And thought of you.”

What?” he blurted, against all propriety.

She sent a husky giggle through the screen. “Oh yes. Right here in this church. Right after you left me.”

There was a pause, but then …

    “Serah?”

A grin split her face. It was way, way out of line for him to have spoken her name like that. And he said it in hushed tones, as if the name alone, overheard, would spill his secrets into public view. The man was a mess: just as she needed him to be.

“Did you miss me, Father Kent?”

Serah stood and stepped out of her side of the booth. And opened the door to his.

The look on that handsome—if inexperienced—face was priceless as his eyes snapped to the door. To the woman joining him in the tiny compartment.

“You can’t be in here!” he said, but she was already shutting the door behind her.

  • After Exile’s Not-So-Secret Lesbian Romance

There’s only so long a book blurb can get and still be considered catchy or concise. There’s only so much visual information a book cover can contain, and for much the same reasons.

A shame, really, because An Emperor for the Eclipse (the first book in my After Exile series) is home to more than one ongoing romance. Sure, the cover shows our hero, Raothan Ga’ardahn, and yes, the blurb on Amazon teases you about him and Niquel. But another couple gets almost equal romantic page time in the book: a general and a thief, two of my favorite female characters I’ve had the pleasure to write.

It’s no joke, Bellora and Kadrian’s meeting and entanglement takes up plenty of Book 1, and won’t be fully resolved until Book 3. In honor of this unsung romance that you’ll never know about unless you get at least five chapters into the book, I’ve made an alternate blurb and [passable] cover for the book, giving these two as much of the spotlight as they deserve.

An Emperor for the Eclipse alternate cover featuring Kadrian Ayzhus

An Emperor for the Eclipse, Alternate Bellora & Ayzhus blurb:

    Bellora Dazhmi murdered her husband.
At least that’s what ‘witnesses’ said. It isn’t true, but the bars of the imperial prison don’t know the difference. Sure, she’d committed crimes. Lying. Illegal trafficking of goods. But not this. Never this.

Kadrian Ayzhus never spends more than a single night with any one of her lovers. The general of the imperial forces enjoys the chase far more than any tamed conquest. She’s left behind sea of jilted lovers deep enough to float a navy to prove it.

The night of his coronation, the new emperor breaks with tradition at the Release Rite. In addition to the life he spares—an honor meant for him, alone—he allows Kadrian to pardon one of the condemned, as well.

And there she is. A petite Novamnean criminal. Caustic. Fearless. A perfect challenge. Kadrian pardons Bellora. Instead of the usual lifetime of service, she offers a deal. The convict can have her freedom after a single night with general.

Bellora sees it as a means to an end, but her time in Kadrian’s bed leaves her shaken. She’d love to leave her confusion behind in the palace, but the rebellion brewing in the capital won’t leave her out of it. Her past grabs hold of her with both hands and forces Bellora to loosen her liar’s tongue once more. This time on Kadrian Ayzhus.

And why not a little excerpt from one of their scenes?

[icon name=”icon-quote-left” size=”small” color=”#8E0301″ float=”none” link=”” new_tab=”no”]The general of the Novamnean Imperial Army stood before Bellora in all her tan, naked, arrogant splendor.Well-muscled thighs and arms presented the woman’s Parthi body like a challenge, while dawn blue eyes shone, eager, and a row of white teeth smiled, hungry. A deep, faded scar slashed down over the woman’s left brow, terminating on a high cheekbone but missing the eye, both marring and accentuating the general’s face at once. Another trio of newer, parallel scars raked along the front of her right thigh, just below the hip as though she’d survived a mountain cat attack.

The important thing to remember was that the woman had survived whatever had made those marks. Kadrian Ayzhus had not earned her place as General by way of her bedroom conquests. Bellora would not win in a fight.

And now the bitch wants to bargain with a round of Catch.

It was a game often used to settle disputes between Parthi lovers or spouses, and a frequent wedding night tradition. The winner could claim victory in the argument and often some other agreed-upon prize. Bellora had a feeling she knew what General Ayzhus would claim as a trophy.

At least if it was a man, I’d know how to handle this. Pack it all.

“Yeah,” Bellora said, finding her way around the opposite side of the table from Ayzhus, well aware of what would come next, “I’ve played Catch.”

Silence stretched as she watched the blonde woman tie off her braid again with the leather strip Bellora had lifted while they were standing close. The general had tried to conceal her shock, but the lightning fast raise of brows and subtle intake of air told her she’d managed to slip past the taller woman’s defenses with her thefts. Ayzhus had power, but Bellora had speed and stealth, and it would serve her to make full use of this disparity.

The general stood, waiting, calm, and Bellora humphed.

Time to get this over with.

    “What are your terms?”

    Ayzhus grinned.

“You win—I don’t catch you before time runs out”—she gestured to a small sand clock on the table—“you walk out of here untouched. Go back to your life, your home, if you want. Anywhere, really. Won’t be any business of mine by then. I’ll release you from your service. Forever.”

    “And if I lose?”

“If I catch you,” the general said, leaning her weight on her palms at the edge of the table, “you owe me satisfaction. Tonight.” The woman shrugged, straightening. “But once I’m satisfied, you can go anyway.” She took in the surprise on Bellora’s face and laughed. “I don’t want to take advantage of you forever. One night’s enough. You’ll get out of here either way; it’s just a matter of what games you’ll have to play first.” At this last, blue eyes wandered away from Bellora’s and down to her throat, her breasts.

“I assume I already know what you mean by ‘satisfied’?” Bellora’s tone was dry.

Ayzhus winked. “I’m pretty sure you do.”

Bellora let out something between a grumble and a sigh. There would be no getting out of this.

    “Rules?”

“No use of Will,” the general said, eyeing her tattoos.

“Saw that coming,” Bellora fired back with a grunt of resignation. “Fine. No intentional pain then, either.”

“Fair enough.” The grin on the Parthi’s face grew predatory as the warrior’s body prepared for the chase, hips shifting, neck bending to one side with a not-so-subtle loosening crack of bone. “And take that off,” Ayzhus said, nodding at her charade of a toga. “You’re not hiding anything with it and you won’t want to give me the advantage of an extra hand hold. Fair is fair.” She finished off with another shrug.

Bellora narrowed her eyes at the woman and held her gaze as she reached down to grab the bottom edge of her garment. In a fluid move, it joined the general’s on the floor.

    “We’re agreed?” the Parthi said.

    No.

    “Agreed.”

Ayzhus took up the sand clock. “Be ready,” she said, giving a quick, upward twitch of her brows, eager for the competition.

A tangible silence grew in the room as the two women squared off, tensing for the moment.

    The clock flipped. Bellora bolted.

    [icon name=”icon-quote-right” size=”small” color=”#8E0301″ float=”none” link=”” new_tab=”no”]

    And so much more!

What’s even more ridiculous is Raothan & Niquel, Bellora & Ayzhus aren’t even the only couples the series follows. Book 1 barely scratches the surface of Doxolemy (the First Chronicler/astrologer to the emperor) and his wife, Janeva. And there’s another pairing set to flare up in book 2, but one of the characters hasn’t been introduced yet, so I can’t talk about it. Muahahaha!

If these two strong-willed ladies intrigue you, Emperor is available on Amazon, and is also free in Kindle Unlimited.

  • Poll: What should I write next?

    Hey troublemakers!

Once I get done with Bass-Ackwards (oh? Did you not know I have a dub-con story in progress on Literotica?) it’s going to be time for me to settle back into something serious. But I have too many projects all clamoring at top volume in my head!

I currently have three—yes! three!—series in progress and, unless I clone myself numerous times over, I can’t write all of them at once, the way I sorely wish I could. So I was hoping YOU fine people who sometimes get your noses between my pages what YOU would like to see next!

    I

Here are the options on the table:

The Carpenter and the Deckhand (The Skull & Crossbone Romances Book 4)

    Length: Novella

Genres: Erotic Romance, Historical, M/M, pirates

The story of how Ellis George, carpenter aboard The Devil’s Luck, met and fell for Christopher Winters, deckhand and, as we will soon learn, clever spy. This is a Coming to Understand My Sexuality tale set in 1716, AND … is something I must write before I get to the sequel to The Devil’s Luck, The Merry Widow. So if TDL is your favorite and you want more Hannah and Benjamin Till and Captain Blackburn, you might vote for this one, as it’s got to happen first. The events in this one are super-relevant to the plot of the other!

    Bloodnames (After Exile Book 2)

    Length: Novel

Genres: Erotic Romance, Low Fantasy, Political Intrigue, M/F, F/F, BDSM

The continuation of the story arc of An Emperor for the Eclipse. This book follows Raothan Ga’ardahn as he now looks for ways to abdicate the throne he didn’t want in the first place without triggering a civil war within the empire. Physical and emotional journeys await for him and Niquel, more angst and mounting attraction grows between Bellora and General Ayzhus, the rift of distrust widens between Doxolemy and Janeva, and First Councilor Ptyverias hides some sordid secrets of his own. If you’re looking to find out what happens next for the whole crew in Novamne, this should probably get your vote.

The Mortal Coil: Medusa & Perseus (Flames of Olympos Book 2)

    Length: Novel

Genres: Erotic Romance, Mythology, BDSM, Femdom

Each of the Olympos books features a different mythical couple. Book One was Hades & Persephone, this book will be Medusa & Perseus, book three will be Aphrodite & Hephaistos. I’ve changed the title on this book about 4 times already, and I might change it again, but the premise remains the same. In this one, I take vastly more artistic liberties with mythological canon than I did in The Eighth House. We all know Perseus was sent to kill Medusa, but my version takes a hard left when he arrives to do the deed: he falls in love with her, instead. Medusa has no interest in men, however. Her curse is a result of male treachery, and her trust is at zero while her scorn is off the charts. He vows to prove himself, she’s determined to scare him away. Even if they find love, how is that supposed to work when he’s being paid to bring back her head? And let’s not forget the fun and games of a relationship where neither party can look the other in the eye. Drama! With probable guest appearances from characters in book one. So if you want more dark mythology from me, this one is the way to go.

So there you go! Honestly, I want to—and will!—write all of these, but for now, I just need a direction. So please vote in the poll below and tell me which you want to read next!

    Thank you!

  • Release Day: The Eighth House

    Welcome to the Underworld.

The Eighth House: Hades & Persephone (Flames of Olympos Book 1) by Eris AdderlyThe equinox is here. Persephone is about to make her first journey into the Underworld. She just doesn’t know it yet.

The new version of your Literotica favorite is now live on Amazon. AND, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read for FREE!

Don’t own a Kindle? You can get the free Kindle app for AndroidApple or PC,

For those of you who prefer holding a real book in your hands, The Eighth House is also available in paperback.

I’ve been working on this since last October, and the revised and expanded version of The Eighth House, is twice as long as the Literotica original, with more plot, more characters, more Underworld, and more Hades!

    Wait a minute …

    New to my dirty mythology?

The Eighth House is available in paperback.Romance readers can enjoy The Eighth House without any prior knowledge of Greek mythology. Just look at it as a romance in a fantasy setting, where there are immortals with incredible powers, and you’re all set!

If you’re like me, however, and have a love for, and familiarity with, the ancient myths, you’re going read my version of the Hades & Persephone tale and have at least one, “Hey, wait a minute!” moment, I assure you. I thought this would be a good place to let you know, lovely reader, that I have taken quite the healthy dose of creative license with the original mythology.

I like to think of it as, “Sure, you know what the ancient poets wrote, but come let me tell you what really happened.” *wink wink* I hope you have as much fun reading all the twists and surprises as I had in writing them.

And if you love Hades & Persephone, let me tell you … more books in the Flames of Olympos universe are coming. Want to know who could fall in love with Medusa? How did Hephaistos deal with Aphrodite’s promiscuous ways? Stick around, because I’m going to tell you. In lurid detail, just how you like it.

  • Mine, All Mine is now FREE to read!

    Mine, All Mine

    Fun. Sexy. Free.

Mine All Mine by Eris Adderly

This fun and tasty little BDSM novella of mine came out last Spring in the Out of the Friend Zone boxed set (with several other contemporary friends-to-lovers erotic romances). Then Amazon went and changed its rules about anthologies and, long story short, we unpublished it.

Now normally my stuff is fairly dark and intense, but this story is something different. So instead of trying to put it up for sale as single title, I’ve decided to make it free for you to read, on the platform where I got my start: Literotica.

Here are the links to the chapters (if you’ve already been following along), or you can just head right to Chapter 1 by clicking the Big Red Button below.

    Chapter 1: The Shaft
    Chapter 2: Silver Tongue
    Chapter 3: Fool’s Gold
    Chapter 4: Mother Lode

There’s hot little excerpt below, so you have some idea what awaits. If you read on Lit, come vote and say ‘Hi’ in the comments section! You don’t need an account and I respond about every five comments or so.Happy reading!

She leaned down to put her palms on his knees for momentary support and knelt in the dirt between them, an array of tiny rocks presenting an immediate annoyance. Taylor ignored them.

“And think of this,” she said, dropping the irritation and volume of her voice, “once someone gives you some decent head, it might help you decide whether it’s something you’re willing to go without. For the long term.”

Taylor knelt upright and they were almost eye to eye. Ian had done nothing to back away or get her out of his space. When her eyes flicked down between them, she noted a new shape to his cargo shorts that was neither a phone nor a wallet.

This isn’t fair. You know he’s not thinking straight right now.

She put a selfish hand on the top of his thigh and scooted a few inches closer. “And Ian.” He blinked at her and she leaned in, letting her next words go quietly at his ear. “I’m good at it. I like it.”

When she pulled away, it wasn’t as far back as she’d been before, and they sat there, still, teetering on the edge in the immense silence of the desert. Eye contact was too much. They both focused instead on her splayed fingers resting on his leg. She could hear him exhale.

    “OK.”

The assent was so tiny, as if he meant to hide it even from himself. And Taylor knew better. Oh, did she know better. But some mistakes were too good not to make.

It was almost as if they both thought his OK alone would set things into motion and, for a long moment, neither moved a muscle.

    Well? You started this.

Taylor’s hand slid further up his thigh, moving over the fabric of his shorts until her thumb hit a speedbump. He inhaled at a hiss and they still couldn’t lock eyes.

    “Ian.”

Pounding heartbeats. She felt him twitch against her thumb.

“One of us is going to have to unbutton you.”

They watched his fingers come up to nudge his tee shirt out of the way and fumble the copper button undone. He left the zipper, perhaps wanting her to take the last step as a way of absolving himself from blame.

The metal tab was between her fingers and she insinuated her upper body closer to his, her ear at his cheekbone, lips set to conspire in secret where there was no one around to hear.

“Tell me to stop,” she whispered, the last exit before the Point of No Return.

    “Don’t.”

Her breath seized. She let go the zipper. Pulled her fingers back an inch.

    “Don’t stop.”

  • Release Day: An Emperor for the Eclipse

    Today is Release Day!

An Emperor for the Eclipse available in ebookAn Emperor for the Eclipse is now live and available on Amazon for your Kindle or Kindle app.

AND, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can borrow Emperor and read for free!
Don’t own a Kindle? You can get the free Kindle app for AndroidApple or PC,

For those of you who prefer holding a real book in your hands, Emperor is also available in paperback.

I had the idea for this story in the spring of 2014, when I was still writing The Devil’s Luck. There was plenty going on in my head, and worldbuilding done on paper, but I didn’t start getting it down on the page until early 2015. And then I wrote, and wrote, and got sidetracked, and published a couple other things, and wrote some more, and finally finished it late 2016.

I am extremely pleased now to get it out there into the world at large, and can’t wait to start hacking away at book two. I have the whole outline ready, so that’s a good head start!

    What am I getting into?

If this is the first time you’ve heard about the After Exile series, I can give you a basic idea of what to expect.

An Emperor for the Eclipse available in paperbackWhile I have yet to indulge in reading the Game of Thrones series (I’ve sworn it off until after the TV version is done), I’ve been told by a few readers that it is GOT-esque, if that’s a thing. It’s a large-scale fantasy world, though you’ll see its humanity has struggles reminiscent of those going on right here at home. There are several races of people, but they’re all human. I decided the variety of cultures was plenty of room to explore differences, so I didn’t venture into other non-human races like elves or dwarves. You’ll find some magic in this world, but it feels more subtle and natural most of the time than anything overt or grandiose, like potions and spellbooks. This story is about people and their motivations, not about magic or cursed crystals. Not a damn thing wrong with any of that, I just chose to go in this direction, instead.

If you’ve read any of my other books, you know I like to write some sex scenes. This book is no exception, though they don’t show up at every turn of the page. But when they happen, well, buckle up, because I am not a fade-to-black kind of girl. Human beings tend to be sexual beings, and tend to form relationships of all kinds. I like to explore this and not gloss it over, as if it were irrelevant. So sex is a thing that exists in my books, you have been warned. Heh.

I try to ask a number of questions with this series. How much attention should we pay to things like destiny and fate? Should we, and can we, resist them? Where is the line between faith and fanaticism? At what point is rebellion necessary and what are the costs to unity? I have mixed thoughts on all of these and answers to none. Maybe come with me on the journey in this world and see what you think, yourself!
